This is useful in case you often use mac terminal with different (color) profiles, e.g. one for ssh to another machine, one for local.
- with normal Terminal on mac, choose profile, mess with colors or what not.
- In menu: Shell -> Export Settings. This saves a .terminal file for you to execute
- Since mac’s dock cannot add .terminal file, change previous file’s extension from .terminal to .app.
- Drag link to Dock
- Rename file’s extension back from .app to .terminal
Repeat for other profiles. But they all now have ugly (and the same) icon in Dock. So:
- Go on google or whatever, find the image you want, and do “Copy Image”
- “Get Info” on each .terminal file
- Click on icon. Control + v to paste in the image you copied to your clipboard
The change to the icon should be reflected in the Dock.
